Flat Sheets are exactly how they sound, they can be laid out completely flat. This gives you the ability to put a flat sheet over any item that is small enough to fit under. When buying a flat sheet you will need to consider extra length and width on all sides to allow you tuck the sheet in. Most mattresses are about 20 cm or 8 inches deep and you will need at least that amount plus some extra to potentially tuck under the mattress. So we would suggest that you allow a least an extra 60 cm (2 feet) beyond the size of the bed you are covering. If you are looking for a all round sheet that can be used on different beds then this is the one for you. |
Fitted Sheets are sheets which are tailored to fit snuggly around the bed's mattress. They are made to measure exactly the mattress that it is being put on. They usually have edges that wrap down the side of the matress and typically have elasticated corners to hold the sheet in place Fitted sheets tend to stay in place more easily than a fitted sheet, which may require regular tucking in. Also fitted sheets tend to be quite easy to put on the bed.
